This is an Original Print of The entrance Gateway to Carisbrooke Castle on the Isle of Wight by C Russell dating c1915. The Castle is famous for having housed King Charles the First. It was here that an attempted escape by the King was foiled when he got his head stuck in the Grilles of his bed chamber window in 1647. The Parlimentarians were considerate enough to ensure that this would never happen again by removing the offending appendage. It comes freshly mounted and giftwrapped in cellophane nand measures 220 x 120 mm and will fit a Standard 300 x 212 mm (A4 Size) Frame..
