This is a First Edition Graphotype print published in London 1867.
In Very Good Condition, printed to one side only with blank reverse, with good all round border and , featuring a Sketch by Phiz.
Phiz whose real name was Hablot Knight Browne (1815-82) is most famous for illustrating the works of Charles Dicken's. He also illustrated for other writers and produced cartoons for Punch magazine and other publications. He was a gifted artist who painted in both watercolours and oils.
The series is entitled 'Riding and Chasing' and shows scenario's where 'riding' or chasing' may be encountered, including Hunting, Steeple Chasing, Romance, the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race, Wimbledon Meetings, etc,
Printed area measures approx 22cm x 18cm, with additional border.
