Samuel Bridgwood Birds Hydra Jug c1885
Samuel Bridgwood & Sons Hydra Jug
This is a beautiful Porcelain Hydra Jug decorated with Birds and Foliage, produced by Samuel Bridgwood & Sons.
The Jug carries the Factory Mark to the base as well as the Victorian Diamond Registration Mark and dates c1885 (I can't read the diamond mark clearly due to the glaze). Porcelain was produced by this factory until 1887 , when it switched production to earthenwares.

The Jug is in Very Good condition for it's age, with some wear to the guilding and some minor faults, with a tight 1cm hairline on the inside rim and two hairlines, which may be an old repair, on the ring at the top of the handle. These do not detract and are only visible on close inspection.
A Lovely Scarce piece!
