Rare Early C18th Footed Fruit Comport and Sugar Set

The Set Comprises of a Large Decorative Fruit Display Bowl or Basket above a Pedestal Base, supported on Four Ball Feet, along with a Lidded Sugar Comport of the same design.

Athough there are no Makers Marks, the Set is of the Very Highest Quality. Possibly by Rockingham, Coalport or Chelsea.

The set dates c1820 and is Elaborately Decorated with Hand Painted Flowers. The Sugar Comport handles have Rams Head Finials.

There is Damage Apparent, with a small section of handle missing from each side of the Fruit Bowl, and an old Victorian Rivet Repair to one Foot (rivets have been removed). The Sugar Comport has a chip to the top finial and discolouration.

The above however does not detract and in use it displays Extremely Well as it is, however it is an Ideal Project for Restoration, as Casts can be easily made from the existing parts.

Fruit Comport measures 15" (38cm) wide by 9" (23cm) high.

Sugar Comport 9" (23cm) wide by 7" (18cm) wide.

Perfect the price would be well in to Three Figures and it is well worth the effort of restoring for what is a Stunningly Beautiful and Rare Set.
