WOODEN MOUNTED CREST - HMS SIRIUS
T his is a WOODEN MOUNTED SHIPS CREST for HMS SIRIUS.
HMS Sirius, a Dido Class Light Cruiser, was built at Portsmouth Dockyard and was launched 18 September 1940. She served throughout the Second World War and was paid off in 1949 and put up for disposal in 1956. On 15 October 1956 Sirius arrived at the yard of Hughes Bolkow, Blyth and was broken up.
The Crest depicts a Mine on a broken Chain and a Dog. It is made in Hard Resin and mounted on a Wooden Plaque.
Measures 6 1/2" diameter. Condition is Excellent.
