Back from Bestival 2011Posted on 1:32pm Monday 12th Sep 2011 Listed under: General Discussion Well, Bestival weekend has gone but left me with some very happy memories. In all it was a sheer Carnival of delights! The Cure gave an outstanding performance, which lasted an entire 2 1/2 hours and was sheer entertainment throughout. Luckily for me I managed to get right near to the front and had a great close up view (thanks to Johnathan and Marie). I am sure that the vast majority of the crowd enjoyed the show, which is sure to go down in Bestival history as being one of the best performances ever and well worth the years of waiting! The event was spread out over a vast area and there was so much to do with so many headline acts, that even given a fortnight I would never have seen everything. The other acts that really shone for me (although I know there were many I wasn't lucky enough to catch) were - Primal Scream in the Big Top on the Friday night, who were knockout, with a superb light show performance; PJ Harvey, who was nothing less than fabulous; Public Enemy - WOW! (can't say more).
Though the highlight of the whole weekend for me was stumbling across The Urban Voodoo Machine who were joined on stage by Son of Dave, in the 'Swamp Shack' late on sunday night. |
